What does one tutor hour become?

A parent at practice asks, "Do you know a good tutor?" The answer is a name. That name is usually for one subject, one hour at a time. Two or three of those hours are still not a path from this grade through 12th.

One hour a week from 4th grade through 12th grade is $21,600 with a $60-an-hour tutor.

On these assumptions, that hour is $60 a week, $200 a month, and $2,400 a year. The total above counts 9 school years, this grade through 12th.

Private tutoring is often quoted at $4,000–$10,000 a year per student. One hour a week at $60 is $2,400 a year, which is less than that quote. Over these years, the quoted range is $36,000–$90,000.

Through 12th = hourly rate × hours per week × 40 weeks × years × students. Years = 12 − grade + 1, counting this grade. A month is that year divided by 12. The affordable program is its monthly price × 12 × years × students. ASPIRE Committed stays $348 a year for one student. ASPIRE All-In stays $249 a year for up to five students. Neither ASPIRE price is multiplied by the student count.
